My name is Tristan Oliff, and I’m running to be your neighbour in Parliament—because our community deserves a representative who listens, builds bridges across differences and fights to make sure no one gets left behind.
In Ottawa—Vanier—Gloucester, we look out for each other. That’s just who we are.
But for too long, we’ve been left to do it alone. Housing costs are out of control. Public services are stretched thin. We can’t keep up or get ahead, and we’ve had enough.
Every election, we hear nice promises, but every year, our community falls further behind.
We deserve better than just survival. We deserve dignity, fairness and change.
That’s what this New Deal for our community is all about: Building a future that our community can believe in—where everyone can thrive, not just struggle to get by.

Real rent control. Massive investment in non-market housing. A bold plan to end homelessness. Because housing is a human right—not a financial asset.
🍎 A Guaranteed Livable Income
A basic income that ensures everyone can afford the essentials—no exceptions. Because no one should be living in poverty while billionaires make record profits.
🚍 A New Deal for Public Transit
Push for direct, permanent federal operational funding for Ottawa to restore routes and make it work. Because OC Transpo is broken—and our people are paying the price every day.
🩺 A New Deal for Public Healthcare
Cover mental health, dental, and prescriptions—through true universal healthcare, not your wallet. Because your health shouldn’t depend on what’s in your bank account.
💼 A New Deal for Workers & Good Jobs
Fair contracts. Union protection. Good jobs that pay the bills and build a better future. Because no one should work full-time and still struggle to afford life.
🧡 A New Deal for Community Care & Local Services
Support and fight for the frontline organizations that hold our community together. Because the heart of our community shouldn’t depend on long hours, low wages and burnout.
For years, Liberal governments have had the power to fix the urgent local problems we face. But instead of taking bold action and fighting for us, they’ve broken promises and delivered excuses.
Every year, life in our community gets harder—why should we vote for more of the same?
Meanwhile, the Conservatives offer nice slogans and pretend to be friends of workers. But we know they’ll cut services, privatize healthcare, and leave the most vulnerable even further behind.
New Democrats are different. We’ve always fought for bold ideas that improve people’s lives—healthcare, pensions, affordable housing, dental care. When others make excuses, New Democrats deliver.
It’s time to elect an MP with a real plan to put our community first and bring real change.
